Sarah Purdon Quartet
Sarah Purdon is an active trumpet player in the Australian jazz and live music scene, having completed her studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2023. An improviser, composer, and bandleader, she is a regular performer within Sydney’s jazz community and has also worked across genres, including soul and RnB. Originally from Wollongong, her musical development has been shaped by a range of mentors, contributing to a distinctive voice on the trumpet that informs both her improvisation and compositional work.
The Sarah Purdon Quartet is a Sydney-based ensemble presenting her original compositions. Drawing inspiration from Australian jazz, her music places a strong emphasis on melody, shaped through the collaboration of the ensemble.
