Commissions
Every year, SIMA’s Artistic Director, in conversation with our Artistic Advisory Committee, selects one or more composers to create a new work. The work is premiered in subsequent years at one of our many flagship series or events, and either documented live or recorded in a studio setting.
Details of the commission are bespoke. SIMA’s many commissioned works have added great value to the Australian Jazz Songbook.
