Leading saxophonist, composer and arranger Andrew Robertson brings together a stellar new quintet performing original works from his forthcoming album, Cycles and Silhouettes.

One of Australia’s most respected jazz arrangers and educators, Robertson has performed alongside artists including Michael Bublé, George Benson and Hugh Jackman, while his recent large-scale works and recordings have cemented his reputation as a distinctive compositional voice on the Australian jazz scene.

The front-line pairing of tenor saxophone and voice creates a unique sonic palette, with the beautiful vocals of Trish Delaney-Brown woven throughout the music. An ARIA-winning vocalist and former member of acclaimed vocal group The Idea of North, Delaney-Brown is celebrated for her expressive storytelling, genre-crossing artistry and deeply engaging stage presence.

The ensemble is completed by some of Australia’s finest improvisers. Pianist Bill Risby is a revered figure in Australian jazz, renowned for his lyrical touch, harmonic sophistication and decades of collaboration with many of the country’s leading artists. Drummer Nic Cecire brings extraordinary versatility and experience, having performed with everyone from jazz luminaries to Boy George, The Whitlams and Christine Anu.

Rising bassist Matt Ling rounds out the group, bringing a fresh voice and dynamic energy to the ensemble. Together, the quintet moves seamlessly across jazz, Latin and contemporary styles, creating music that is rich in melody, colour and spontaneity.
