Inspired by guitar and double bass collaborations such as Jim Hall and Ron Carter's Alone Together, Geddes and White perform two intimate sets of music from the Great American Songbook alongside their own compositions.

Hilary Geddes & Lauren White are two of Australia’s most distinctive improvising musicians.

Eora/Sydney guitarist, improviser and composer, Hilary Geddes is the 2021 Freedman Jazz Fellow, a 2021 ABC Jazz Scholarship recipient, and the 2019 recipient of the Jann Rutherford Memorial Award. She works as an in-demand guitarist in the Australian jazz and improvised music scenes, performing alongside jazz luminaries such as Mike Nock, Lakecia Benjamin (USA), Laurence Pike and Jonathan Zwartz.

Lauren White is a bassist and vocalist who has performed at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival, and the Sydney Opera House. She is the recipient of the 2024 2MBS Fine Music Sydney Ken Weatherley jazz scholarship, and has studied with some of Australia’s leading bassists, such as Craig Scott, Donny Benét, and Brett Hirst. In 2019 she studied at the esteemed Herb Alpert School of Music at UCLA in Los Angeles. Known for her down-to-earth style, grounding bass, and warm, soulful melodies, Lauren White is a unique voice in the Australian jazz landscape.
