Sydney International Women’s Jazz Fest

Paul Cutlan, Phillippa Murphy-Haste, and Mary Rapp join forces to bring you a night of improvised music in duo and trio combinations.

Paul and Phillippa have played under the moniker ‘Alterity’ since 2019, with their debut performance described as feeling like a “sacred space” (Peter Nelson, Eastside FM).

They weave between improvisation and make references to some of their favourite compositions along the way. The ever-intriguing and powerful cellist Mary Rapp and expert clarinets-specialist and sometimes violist Phillippa Murphy-Haste debut as a duo in this performance, and the night ends with all three musicians exploring the trio format in an exciting finale to the evening.
