From Ballina to Broken hill and beyond, our Regional Touring Fund helps NSW artists present their work Australia-wide with a focus on regional and remote areas within New South Wales. We provide practical and professional support in the areas of project development, publicity, operations as well as financial support for travel and promotion. We offer industry networking and advice for planning and career development as well as developing and maintaining viable touring circuits which provides access for audiences nation-wide to enjoy high quality music.
The Regional Touring Fund is a vital component of SIMA’s activities, facilitating opportunities for musicians and audience development via:
- Employment and performance opportunities for contemporary jazz/improvising artists of excellence.
- Development of new, committed audiences for contemporary jazz and improvised music throughout Australia.
- Ensuring access to and the promotion of excellence, one which is responsive to the needs and aspirations of artists and audiences.
In light of COVID-19, our physical touring program has been reduced, however we are working on a new program FREE SPACE which connects local, national and global audiences through music and art via collaborative streamed presentations with regional galleries and local music makers.
