The Truffle Boils is one of Sydney’s unjustly obscure jazz treasures. The quartet of virtuosi has cohered into an intensely passionate, fiercely swinging unit, mixing some band originals with rarely-heard classics from legendary immortals like Marion Brown, Ellington, Mingus and others.
Featuring the alto sax/trumpet magic of Peter Farrar & Tom Avgenicos, and the Rhythm/bass engine room of Jodie Michael and Sam Dobson.

Kate Wadey is a Sydney-based jazz vocalist and songwriter known for her warm, expressive sound and deeply personal approach to music. Drawing on the rich traditions of jazz and songs, Kate’s original compositions are emotive, joyful and intimate, exploring stories of love, life and connection.
For this special performance, Kate will present a collection of original works alongside two of Australia’s most distinctive musicians, pianist Matt McMahon and double bassist Samuel Dobson.
