An almost serial shamanic piano phrase is muffled by digital blankets whilst a volley of cymbals whisks us away like wings beating through the air. Together, the pair weave a captivating tale.

Back briefly from the US, bassist & composer Oscar Peterson brings a collection of songs and stories that fit between the cracks of style and tradition. This will be a set of new and old compositions inspired by the music of Duke Ellington, Paul Motian, Alice Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, George Russell and J.S. Bach.

Oscar is currently halfway through his Master’s degree at the New England Conservatory in Boston, where he has been studying with Cecil McBee, Ethan Iverson, Jason Moran, Jerry Bergonzi, Jason Palmer and Joe Morris. Catch him while he’s in town.
