Freyja’s ambient, and rhythmically complex compositions empower the band to drastically manipulate the music live on stage.

Featuring legendary Australian saxophonist, Sandy Evans, Freyja Garbett’s “Music From the Waves” is a multi-movement suite combining electro-acoustic sonic palettes to encapsulate and audiate the synthesis between Freyja two great loves; music and surfing. The line-up also includes one of Sydney’s finest rhythm sections with Max Alduca on double bass and Miles Thomas on drums.

Each performance is fresh and invigorating, as they surf the changes.

As a bassist, Lucy Clifford has dedicated many years to accompanying artists of different kinds and fostering spaces for dialogue, Lucy’s original music places that same value and care in encouraging space for exploration, via way of raw grooves, lyrical arrangements and igniting spirit. Although rooted in Jazz expression, this band explores beyond the fringes of genre, building symbiotic rhythms and pulses that interlock with all things motion, stillness and freedom in between.
