Asteroid Ekosystem + Ilex

February 26 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

‘This is one mighty sonic trip that paints colourful pictures in the mind’ – Loudmouth Magazine

The brainchild of shape-shifting pianist Alister Spence, Asteroid Ekosystem is a supergroup for the 21st century featuring pioneering guitarist Ed Kuepper (The Saints, Laughing Clowns), and legendary bassist Lloyd Swanton (The Necks).

With the spontaneity of jazz, the instrumentation and dynamism of rock, and futuristic explorations resembling psychedelic – Asteroid Ekosystem is a progressive musical statement that can’t be restricted by genres or labels.

Opening the night with beautiful sound-worlds made through amorphous looping, and textural percussion is Sydney solo drum project Ilex. She creates other-worldly music designed to transport and spark the imagination.
