About the Artist
Delay 45 meld beautiful compositions together with improvisation. The result is a fluid exchange between structure and spontaneity, creating an immersive listening experience that traverses entrancing moods, colours and textures.
Led by Award-winning trumpeter Tom Avgenicos, alongside fellow collaborators Roshan Kumarage, Dave Quinn and Ashley Stoneham – the group have emerged as “a bold new chapter in Australian jazz” – John Shand, Sydney Morning Herald.
Delay 45’s sound is grounded in a deep understanding of each other’s playing, stemming from their dedication and long history together. The outcome is their intuitive ability to respond and interact with one another – immediately in the moment.
This concert celebrates the release of their sophomore album ‘Flux’, following on from their critically acclaimed 2019 debut ‘Big Ears’.
