The annual Freedman Fellowship awards a classical instrumentalist of up to 30 years of age a $20,000 prize to undertake a career-enhancing creative project. The Sydney Improvised Music Association (SIMA)
administers the Fellowship on behalf of The Freedman Foundation and The Music Trust. We're thrilled to announce the three finalists for 2017, who will each be performing at this concert in competition for the prize:

MATTHEW KNEALE bassoon TAMARA KOHLER flute ALEX RAINERI piano

The concert will be broadcast live by ABC Classic FM. Join us for the excitement as the winner of this prestigious Fellowship is chosen and announced on the night! The concert also features a performance by acclaimed percussionist Claire Edwardes, Artistic Director of Ensemble Offspring and Freedman Classical Fellow 2005.

Tickets are free (book here). Your host for the evening is Tamara-Anna Cislowska, ABC presenter and one of Australia’s most acclaimed and recognised pianists.
